Supervisor Responsibilities:
Manages subordinate foreman who supervise employees in the Construction Department.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this unit.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and enforcing all company safety policies.

Summary:
Directs activities of workers concerned with installation of fence products and other related tasks by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Directs and verifies compliance with Company Safety Policy and Programs.
Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of start and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction. 
Assign members of the organization (foreman, drivers, and laborers) at the start of the project and on a daily basis as required. 
Orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
Confers with supervisory personnel and other employees to resolve complaints within work force.
Confers with supervisory, engineering personnel, inspectors and suppliers of materials to resolve construction problems. 
Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports. 
Checks for or directs others to check for utilities at each construction site. 
Assists with job estimating functions with the company.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and to convert English to Metric. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, construction specifications, drawings, blue prints, and operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and sit.  Also, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Personal Protective Equipment: 
The Superintendent will be required to wear all safety equipment as mandated by Company Safety Policies.

This employee will be responsible for the health and safety of employees under his/her jurisdiction and will be held accountable for the proactive enforcement of all Safety Policies and Programs.
